OK. So, this month I’m focusing on the topic of fear. Why? Because it’s October. Halloween and all things scary. 🎃
I love a good horror film, but unfortunately, fear can grasp your life and keep you scared much more than any horror film.
One of the things that has scared me most is the fear of failure.
It’s the thought of looking silly in front of others. Of ruining my chances. Of letting myself and others down.
So, how have I got over this fear? If you have this fear what can you do about it?
🎃Know that there’s no such thing as failure, only feedback. It takes the pressure off the results and let’s you know that no matter what happens, you learn something.
🎃Make a list of your so-called failures and look at them honestly. What was good about them? What did you learn? How did they help you grow? Would you change them?
🎃Trust that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. You can’t see where your journey is leading, or the full pieces to the jigsaw. So it’s best to take things one step at a time and trust that you’ll end up where you’re meant to.
🎃 Repeat the affirmation ‘this or something better’. I was once devastated that I didn’t get a job I thought was perfect for me. Luckily, two weeks later I got an even better job. Hindsight has shown me that I wouldn’t have enjoyed the first job after all. It a worked out for me.
🎃 Off the back of that, see each experience as a lesson and the opportunity to get clear on what you want. If you take the notion of success and failure out if experiences you can enjoy life for the series of lessons that it is.
