I’ve been reminded recently of a quote my dad says to me ‘Inch by inch, everything’s a cinch’.

This has been my mantra a lot this past few weeks as I’m juggling all of the demands on me. I’ve been feeling a tad overwhelmed.

I’m definitely an all or nothing girl, so I often feel like I have to have everything on my ‘to do’ list ticked off. But, I’ve realised over the years that I’ll never get everything done. And that’s not a bad thing.

If I get everything done, then it means that I’m stagnant.

We do things to grow. Life is all about change and growth.

So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed, overworked and like you don’t have enough time know that you just have to take one small step at a time.

Feeling overwhelmed can make you feel lifeless!

Take breaks when you need them, reward yourself for the effort you make and ask for help.

Also, get rid of the stuff that you don’t need to do, the people who bring you down and the items you keep for the sake of it. These can make you feel overwhelmed too.

All of these things clutter our living space and act like a permanent grey cloud hanging over us. I know you can’t get rid of some people you might like to, but just protect yourself when you’re in their company.

Remember that you have control over your life and with the choices that you make. Lots of our ‘to do’ items or experiences are born out of habit, or obligation.

Take time to re-define what works for you.
